Business situation

This low margin commodity-based business was seeking to increase profits and differentiate themselves in a crowded market place. There was no long term business strategy in place. The executive leadership team were technically strong but were misaligned on the future direction of the business.

A new vision, mission and strategy were created and deployed leading to:

•        Rationalised manufacturing operations and stock holdings to reduce costs and increase production efficiency

•        The implementation of a new supply chain and distribution model to improve customer service and reduce cost to serve.

•        The creation of innovative products and services to complement the core commodity products and increase margins.

•        The creation of a new sales force targeted on selling higher value add products and services.

The company has grown annual revenues from £4.1m to £16m over a three-year period.
